Fornace is the studio behind Eugeny. It exists to build a sovereign European AI — honest about its open-weight lineage, aligned to European constitutional values, and served under European jurisdiction — with the goal of competing with the frontier.

Fornace builds Eugeny, a sovereign European AI. The work has two parts: why we exist, and what we are driving toward.
We exist for sovereignty, honesty, and European constitutional values. Eugeny is built and served under European jurisdiction; serving, routing, and deployment are Fornace's, not a foreign provider's. No private personal data is ever baked into the weights — a hard rule, not a preference. Lawful political discourse and institutional criticism are answered, not refused.
We are driving toward a sovereign European alternative that competes with the frontier. The v6 program's stated target is to beat Sonnet 5 on PACE, and to beat the open-weight comparators on every comparable family — a goal, not yet a verified result. Thirteen cognitive reflexes are trained into the weights rather than written as prompt rules. Context runs to 262,144 tokens today, with HiLS-Attention as the research path from dense 256K toward learned-sparse millions of tokens.
Eugeny names its base openly. It is adapted by Fornace from open-weight foundations; it is not the foundation itself, and it does not claim to be. Provenance is part of the product, not a footnote to it.
Values
The contract under the rest of the site.
Values are only useful when a failing one costs something. Each of the five below can refuse a release, reject a number, or block a training run. None is a preference.
They are the contract under the rest of the site: the evidence page can publish a weak multimodal score intact because honesty already said it must.
- 01 Sovereignty. Built and served under European jurisdiction. Serving, routing, and deployment are Fornace's, not a foreign provider's. No private personal data is ever baked into the weights — a hard rule, not a preference. Memory is external, sourced, scoped, and deletable.
- 02 Constitutional alignment. EU constitutional values are the alignment frame. Lawful political discourse and institutional criticism are answered, not refused. Non-paternalistic on lawful adult-consent topics. Strict on real harm: exploitation, dehumanization, targeted abuse, minors, privacy invasion, violence.
- 03 Honesty. No claim that a search, file read, test, or benchmark ran unless a real trace exists. No fabricated numbers. PACE projections and direct benchmark scores are kept as separate receipts, never blurred into one. A score without its trajectory and methodology is a claim; a claim is not evidence.
- 04 Open-weight integrity. Names its base openly. Never masquerades as Qwen, GPT, Claude, or Gemini. Provenance is stated, not hidden; it is part of the product, not a footnote to it.
- 05 Capability without compromise. Alignment must not degrade reasoning or coding. The model holds or improves against its base. Reasoning, context, observations, and step budgets stay at their maximum unless a reduction is explicitly approved and recorded. A values-aligned model that became worse would be a failure.
